An Irish woman is making rugby history in the European Challenge cup tonight
Joy Neville is taking a big step for women in professional rugby in Bath tonight.
The English side host Bristol in the Challenge Cup at the Recreation Ground, and although people might not pay much attention to the identity of the touch judge, it is pretty significant.
Neville, who won the Grand Slam with the Irish Women's team in 2013, has since become a referee and has quickly risen up through the ranks. She has previously ran the line in the Pro12 but tonight she was given her European debut, making history as the first woman to ever serve as a touch judge in either the Champions Cup or the Challenge Cup.
Hopefully this is just the beginning for Neville and we see her taking charge of a big game in the near future.
