Cork Constitution began the season brightly with an opening-day victory thanks to the accurate kicking of Hurley.

The scrum-half's calm assurance brought them back into the game after going behind early on and he finished with 18 of his side's 21 points as they beat Lansdowne.

One to watch

Jack Carty (Buccaneers)

Connacht's U-20s have just won the Inter-pros and 19-year-old Carty was at the heart of that success. He was at it again on Saturday in Buccaneers' victory at home to Bruff. The local out-half looks to have all the attributes for success, kicking seven points and running a backline that produced both tries in an opening-day win.

Number of the week

3 There might have been 26 games on Saturday, but only three teams -- all from Ulster -- managed to rack up a try-scoring bonus with Dungannon, Ballynahinch and Rainey doing the damage.
