Roddy Collins has taken over from Declan Devine as the new manager of Derry City.

Collins (52), who led Athlone Town to promotion from the First Divsion, was replaced by former Drogheda United boss Mick Cooke yesterday at the Midlands club having told Athlone that he wished to move on at the end of the season.

Derry legend Peter Hutton is expected to be named as Collins' assistant with the Candtstripes.

Derry City finished fourth in this year's Airtricity League Premier Division under Devine but qualified for the Europa League thanks to Sligo Rover's win in the FAI Cup final.
