Ireland's Tori Pena fails to make Pole Vault final

Ireland's Tori Pena has failed to make the final of the women's pole vault final after she couldn't reach her personal best this afternoon.

Pena had a first time clearance at 4.15m before advancing on to 4.30m which she cleared on her second attempt. Unfortunately she had three failures at 4.45m.

The California-born athlete needed to finish in he Top 12 of her qualifying group to advance or equal her personal best of 4.6m to qualify progress automatically but she failed to do either.
