Irish boxers Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan pose for selfie with tennis royalty in Olympic Village
It’s not all too often that world champions or two-time Olympic medallists might find themselves star struck, but that seems to have been the case for Irish boxers Michael Conlan and Paddy Barnes in Rio today.
Being what they are, Olympic Villages tend to be teeming with bone fide sporting royalty and, as such, the athletic aristocrats are bound to bump into one another.
This afternoon, two of Ireland’s greatest medal hopefuls, Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan, ran into Rafael Nadal and, unsurprisingly, posed for a selfie with the great Spaniard.
Nadal, who won a gold medal at the 2008 Games, is set to compete in three different tennis events, but still had time for a quick photo.
