A 99lbs Olympic gymnast has been body-shamed on Twitter

It's not often that you hear an Olympic gymnast being mocked for her weight.
And yet that's what a number of Twitter trolls took pleasure in after Mexico's Alexa Moreno showed off her skills in Rio.
Weighing just 99 pounds, Moreno was compared to a pig and told she should have gone on a diet before attending the Games.
More sensible members of the Twitterati have scoffed at attempts to body-shame the athlete.
A number of the nasty tweets have since been deleted.
Moreno ended qualification in 31st place and did not secure a place in the final on Thursday night (EST).
She has represented Mexico in gymnastics for several years and in 2014 finished seventh in the vault final at the world championships.
Sad to see MEXICANS body-shame Alexa Moreno. She is representing you, she is an olympian, she is a human. She deserves respect.— RMadridGirl (@RMadridGirl) August 10, 2016
#AlexaMoreno body shamers-really? Can you sprint 82 ft & propel your body head over heals? She's amazing & inspiration to young Mexicans.— Carrie S. (@swampmonster) August 10, 2016
