The FAI have announced that the Republic of Ireland will face Latvia at the Aviva Stadiumon November 15, four days before they travel to Poznan to take on Poland.
Very few Latvian players will be known by Irish football fans apart from Reading's Kaspar Gorkss and Brighton defender Vitālijs Maksimenko.
Meanwhile, the FAI Board of Management have been summoned to a Monday board meeting to determine the next step on the Ireland manager front, but the intentions of Martin O'Neill are likely to set the agenda.
The FAI headhunters Ray Houghton and Ruud Dokter are set to present their recommendations to the association's hierarchy tomorrow, but it's believed that they haven't been communicating directly with the O'Neill camp.
Their views will be discussed on Monday, with a full meeting of the 10-man board required before the formal appointment of any candidate can be sanctioned.
U-21 boss Noel King is on standby to step in and name a squad should the senior position remain open.
Tickets are now available through www.fai.ie starting at €20 for adults, €10 for children and €50 for a family ticket (two children and two adults). Latvian supporters living in Ireland can also book Latvian section supporter tickets directly through www.fai.ie, following the instructions in Latvian.
