Eddie Lynam's globetrotting star last ran in Ireland in the Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh when second to Amour Propre.

He also had the option of the Temple Stakes at Haydock, a race he won in 2011, on the same day, but Irish fans will now get the chance to see one of their great performers.

What also worked in the Curragh's favour is that regular rider Richard Hughes is in Ireland this weekend to ride Ivawood in the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas.

Lynam told the Irish Herald: "We want to run this weekend.

"The ground at the Curragh is good to yielding and I am happy with that. (We're also) keen to run in Ireland after so long."

Sole Power has taken his connections all around the world and Paddy Power, spokesman for the bookmakers of the same name whose parents own the sprinter, said: "We decided this weekend the best option was to run at the Curragh,

"We'd spoken to somebody who walked the track at Haydock and the ground is just a bit softer there so it's going to be more suitable at the Curragh.

"Richard Hughes will be at the Curragh, too."
