When Tim Sherwood took over at Aston Villa, the Jack Grealish story wasn't that big. But that was back then.
In the months since, Sherwood has shown faith in the youngster and given him game time. Plenty of game time. And Grealish has responded in terrific fashion with a string of excellent performances in a rejuvenated Villa side.
Tomorrow, Martin O'Neill will unveil his Ireland squad for the vital, crunch Group D clash against Scotland in the Aviva Stadium in June.
It's a game that Ireland simply must win if they harbour any hopes of playing in next year's European Championships in France.
The Jack Grealish situation is sure to dominate tomorrow's press conference once again. Grealish has proved he is one of the top young talents in the Premier League. O'Neill says he is not ready to he thrown into the squad to face the Scots.
Whether O'Neill is batting away the Grealish story because of other circumstances is yet to be determined. There is suggestions that Grealish has told the FAI that he is unavailable for selection and O'Neill is merely spinning the "not ready" line.
But if that was the case, then surely O'Neill would just say so?
Have your say. Should Martin O'Neill name Jack Grealish in the squad tomorrow?
