It was always a slim chance that Padraig Harrington would get the win he needed at the Houston Open to qualify for next weekend's Masters but by any measurement, the Dubliner has had a disastrous start to this evening's second round.

The three-time major-winner came into today's round at one over par but any chance he had at making a run ended at the fourth hole.

Harrington found the water twice, resulting in a triple-bogey, before dropping a shot at the sixth and then losing two balls en route to a double-bogey at the eighth.

The cut is projected at -2 at the moment but Harrington is a long way off on +7 at the moment, and he is set to miss the first major of the year as a result.
