Watching brief

Bundle Of Fun's triumph at Listowel on Thursday was another fine example of Willie Mullins' ability to improve horses that switch to his care from other trainers. Scoring off a mark of 109 under Ruby Walsh on his third start for his new stable, he won with plenty in hand, which makes a current chase rating of 95 seem ripe for exploitation, a reality that Mullins didn't mind pointing out afterwards. The champion trainer's next move with Bundle Of Fun will be interesting.

HAVING pointed readers in the direction of both Saddler's Rock (11/2) and Requinto (10/3) at Doncaster on Friday of last week, Richard Forristal followed up on Saturday when three of his four column selections recorded a sparkling 366/1 treble.

His Best Bet Masked Marvel returned an SP of 15/2 in the Doncaster St Leger, while he also nominated the 14/1 Portland Handicap winner Nocturnal Affair, as well as Premio Loco (15/8). His rich vein of form continued at Listowel on Sunday when he highlighted Trabajo (7/4), De Valira (9/2) and Ravensbury (5/1) for a 90/1 hat-trick.
