Tennis: Brave Barry makes exit
IRELAND'S Sam Barry turned in a gallant performance against a much higher ranked opponent, but eventually made his exit in the second round of the Australian Junior Open.
World U-18 No 64, Barry came up trumps in a marathon opening set, which lasted 67 minutes, at Melbourne Park yesterday.
However, Britain's 35-ranked Oliver Golding stormed back to take a 3-0 lead in the second set and he continued in that vein to clinch a place in the last 16 with a 6-7 (8/10) 6-3 6-4 win after two hours and 34 minutes.
