Tennis: Barry's woe

Monday March 29 2010

IRELAND'S Sam Barry is hoping for a case of third time lucky as he chases additional U-18 world ranking points in this week's ITF Grade One event in Nagoya, Japan.

For the second week in a row the Limerick native finished in the runners-up spot in the boys' doubles final in the Far East circuit.

On Saturday, Barry and New Zealand's Ben McLachlan, the No 4 seeds, were edged 4-6 3-6 by the No 2 seeds, Francis Casey Alcantara of the Philippines and Raymond Sarmiento (US), in the Grade 1 tournament in Manila.
