UCD dominated the opening night of the Irish short course championships in Lisburn, finishing with five golds and a new national record for the 4x100m medley relay.

The quartet of David Prendergast, Darragh Greene, Jack Keogh and Alex Melennec smashed Trojan's 13-year-old record held by Trojan.

Earlier in the evening, Prendergast had won the 100m individual medley. In the most exciting race of the evening, team-mate Jane Roberts of UCD won the 50m backstroke.

Darragh Green had kept the gold rush going with victory in the 50m breaststroke. The fifth gold was won by Shani Stallard in the 200m individual medley.

Rising star Antoinette Neamt (14) cruised to a 15-second victory in the 800m freestyle. Calum Bain won the 50m freestyle.
