Judd Trump needs just one frame today to book his place in the semi-finals of the World Snooker Championships after a stunning display against Ding Junhui.
Leading 6-2 going into the evening session, Trump continued the pattern of the morning to lead 12-4.
Two of the other quarter-finals have surprising leaders, with Barry Hawkins and Stuart Bingham 5-3 up against Neil Robertson and Ronnie O’Sullivan, respectively.
O’Sullivan was fortunate to escape a possible seven-point sanction as he placed his chalk on the table to line up a shot but referee Terry Camilleri did not call the foul as he went 3-2 ahead.
Bingham, though, recovered to win three successive frames, with the match continuing this afternoon.
Shaun Murphy leads surprise package Anthony McGill 9-7.
