Snooker: Judge blitzed by Rocket Ronnie
Until yesterday, the Dubliner had never experienced O'Sullivan in top gear, but was full of praise for the twice world champion after losing 5-2 when they met in the last 16 of the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in Aberdeen.
"When Ronnie gets in amongst the balls he punishes you so heavily. I felt if I got a chance, I'd do damage but he plays so solidly and makes the game look so easy it's frightening," said Judge.
Breaks of 56, 61, 49 and 78 propelled O'Sullivan 3-2 ahead, and wrapped up proceedings with a run of 62 in frame seven.
While O'Sullivan smoothly advanced to play Joe Swail in the quarter-finals, Judge joins Grand Prix group losers, Ken Doherty and Fergal O'Brien, in concentrating on the next world ranking event, the Northern Ireland Trophy in Belfast on November 4-11.
