Dolores Ruth tightened her grip on the Ladbrokes.com Irish Derby when completing another double in Saturday's second-round heats at Shelbourne and she now has the two favourites in the sponsor's revised betting lists.
For the second round on the trot, Razldazl George was the star performer as he took it up from Droopys Twirl on the opening bend and then went on to win by two lengths from the Oaks heroine in 29.54 -- the best time of the competition.
Litter brother Razldazl Jayfkay was an emphatic winner of Heat 12 in 29.78.
He just cleared Tyrur Domingo into the bend and the latter, finding himself shut off, duly checked wide and crashed into Ballymac Razl and Barefoot Bullet, leaving Jayfkay clear.
Conor Fahy also had a double, with Tyrur Quinn proving to be a real revelation despite his multiple injury problems.
He went past Coolykereen Imp on the third bend and shot away to win by four and a half lengths in 29.79.
Defending champion Tyrur McGuigan had a real struggle after early trouble to win the final heat by three parts of a length from Pennys Viking in 30.25.
One of the more impressive runs was the 29.96 from the Graham Holland-trained Meadow Bank Owl in Heat 9.
The favourite, Makeshift, was in pole position for much of the journey, but Meadow Bank chased him into the far side and just grabbed him on the line for a short-head verdict.
