Phelps turns on style

MICHAEL PHELPS is used to celebrating 200m butterfly victories but the American's gold medal at the World Championships in Shanghai was particularly sweet.
The win not only came one year to the day before he begins his final Olympic Games campaign in London, but also helped atone for a series of recent losses in what has been his signature event for the best part of a decade.
The American exploded off the blocks and led for the first 100m before Takeshi Matsuda had a phenomenal turn and the pair raced stroke-for-stroke down the third length in which the Japanese swimmer took a narrow lead. Phelps then did exactly what Matsuda had done 50m earlier as his turn for home propelled him back in front and he held on to win in 1:53.34.
