Irish showjumper Denis Lynch has pulled out of the equestrian individual final at the Olympics after his horse tested positive for a banned substance.

Lynch was due to compete in the final today on board Lantinus, but has now been suspended along with competitors from Germany, Brazil and Norway.

All four horses have reportedly tested positive for the prohibited substance capsaicin.

Lynch was notified of the positive test earlier today by the International Equestrian Federation.
