Myles Casey and Darren O'Neill get Irish fighters off to a winning a start in Baku

Limerick's Myles Casey became the first fighter to win a bout at the inaugural European Games.
Casey defeated Ivan Fihurenka 29-28 this morning in their last 16 bout. The Limerick fighter won two out of the three rounds on all three boxers scorecards.
Team captain Darren O'Neill followed suit in the heavyweight division with a unanimous points victory over Romanian Ionut Jitaru.
The Kilkenny fighter was dominant throughout to record a comprehensive victory.
O'Neill has moved up to the heavyweight division in recent times and has been getting used to fighting boxers much bigger than him at 91kg.
O’Neill will now face Latvia’s Raitis Sinkevics in the Last 16 on Sunday.
Kurt Walker (2.30pm), Micheal O'Reilly (4.15[m) and Sean McCombe (8.30pm) are the other Irish fighters in action today.
