Irish riders were in sparkling form at four major international fixtures over the weekend.
Denis Lynch was eighth with Twister S in Saturday's Speed and Handiness class at the 5-Star fixture in Basel, Switzerland, and produced one of 13 first-round clears in yesterday's Moser Grand Prix. But a pole down for All Star in the second round left them out of the decider, in which Portugal's Luciana Diniz snatched the €150,000 top prize.
At Drachten 3-Star in Holland, Trevor Coyle and Carlina finished fourth in yesterday's Grand Prix.
Shane Sweetnam recorded back-to-back wins on the opening day of the 12-week FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida last Wednesday. He topped the G&C Farms 1.45m class with Solerina and then brought Eregast Van't Kiezelhof out to win the 1.40m competition.
In Abu Dhabi, Marion Hughes secured two second-placed finishes with Heritage Fortunus, while Cian O'Connor steered Unique into runner-up spot in the 3-Star Two-Phase class.
Michael Hutchinson took fourth with Le Roi in yesterday's Grand Prix.
