Kyle wins two gold and one bronze for Ireland in the European Special Championships
Dundalk’s Special Olympics athlete Kyle Norton has won one gold medal in Singles, one bronze medal in Doubles with Emma, and one gold in the team event in 10-pin bowling.
Kyle who is 18 years old has only being bowling for three years since the local Special Olympic club began the sport.
Kyle was the only person from the local area to qualify for the team.
He has been training in Dublin once a month with head coach Kevin Mallon, Chris, Jackie, Ruth and Sonia and Jim Brady who has helped Kyle immensely.
The games began with a elaborate ceremony on September 18th in Warsaw and Kyle was joined by his family and friends.
The last time the Dundalk Special Olympic club had an athlete represent Ireland was some 15 years ago when Barry Kiernan won three medals at the World Games in North Carolina.
Kyle would like to thank everyone in Poland and Ireland for all their support and best wishes coming up to and during the games.
