Jessica Ennis-Hill has had to pull out of the World Athletics Championships due to injury.
A year on from winning Olympic gold in such stunning fashion, the 27-year-old heptathlete had hoped to now take the world crown in Moscow.
However, Ennis-Hill has only recently recovered from Achilles problems and was some way below her best in both the hurdles and long jump at the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games last weekend.
The Sheffield athlete said she did not want to go to Russia to make up the numbers and, together with her coach Toni Minichiello and medical, has today announced the decision to pull out.
