Irish canoeist Jenny Egan has qualified for the A final of the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup series event in Portugal on Saturday after seeing off South African Esti van Tonder to finish in third place in the K1 200m.

After missing out on the final of the K1 500 by a tenth of a second in Montemor-o-Velho on Saturday, the Dubliner will now line up in two finals on Sunday after successfully qualifying for the K1 5000.

It's the first A final of the season for Egan who missed out on qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympics by 0.07 seconds.
