HOWARD REECE weighed in for Saturday's meeting with Ireland's Jason Quigley in Las Vegas sporting the physique of a bronze statue.

Unfortunately for anyone expecting a competitive fight, the American middleweight has fewer evasive manoeuvres than a copper sculpture.

Reece was dropped by Quigley, who was making his professional debut, 45 seconds into the first round.

The end soon followed as referee Jay Nady took Reece into protective custody 82 seconds into the opening frame, with a super-fit Quigley pummelling the Florida native with a barrage of punishing blows.

Quigley, who went about his business with impressive zeal, can expect to have at least two more fights before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, in the main bout on the card, Saul Alvarez beat WBA super-welterweight champion Erislandy Lara on a split-decision in a non-title grudge match.
