In brief: Padraig slumps to frustrating 73
Three bogeys in his last six holes were enough to leave Padraig Harrington with a frustrating two-over par first-round total of 73 at the PGA Tour Transitions Championship at Tampa Bay in Florida yesterday.
Starting on the 10th, Harrington shot a steady opening nine of all pars, and looked to be headed in the right direction when he birdied the 10th.
But he faltered thereafter, and had to settle for a back-nine of 38.
Harrington is some way off the early leading scorer, England's Paul Casey, who carded a stunning, seven-under-par 64, with seven birdies and no shots dropped.

It was a mixed day for the Irish in the opening round of the European Tour Sicilian Open yesterday. Best placed was Damien McGrane, whose one-under-par 70 came after an up-and-down round that included four birdies and three bogeys.
Gareth Maybin was a model of consistency, carding 18 pars to finish on level-par 71.
Shane Lowry and Peter Lawrie both shot one-over par 72s to lie seven strokes off the pace, which was set by Spain's José Manuel Lara and Wales' Stephen Dodd, with impressive rounds of 65.

New Zealander Andy Ewington scored the goals as Monkstown captured the Leinster Senior Cup for the first time since 1979, writes David Medcalf.
The canny Kiwi kept his cool in a simmering game against Glenanne at Grange Road yesterday.
Glenanne were hoping to mark the passing of Roland O'Donoghue, captain of their first Leinster Cup winning team in 1996.
O'Donoghue died during the week in England at the age of 36 and a minute's silence was observed before yesterday's game.
Both teams have just one day to recover before playing key national league fixtures tomorrow.#
