Greyhounds: Red Mills Masters

Published 06/11/2010 | 05:00

Having had a three-week break since his success in the Hennerty Laurels at Cork, Tyrur Enda returns to action at Waterford tonight where he's clearly the one to beat in the opening semi-final of the Red Mills Masters.

Early pace is Tyrur Enda's forte and the Waterford circuit could have been made to measure for Conor Fahy's star tracker. He has pace to take the bend from Fatboyz Nodrog, Razldazl Lord and Jonny Whitesox and the stamina to hold a late run from Krug Ninety Five.

Trying to be dogmatic about the second semi is tougher, with Thurlesbeg Joker's introduction into the race as reserve for the withdrawn Tyrford Comet making a very difficult contest even more intriguing. This will be a very open betting affair with the battle to the bend of paramount importance.

Leeview Jet, Beaming Dilemma, Colorful Champ and Fatboyz Tyson are likely to dice for an early advantage, while both De Ex Factor and Thurlesbeg Joker will be motoring at the business end. But from the six box Pat Gordon's Fatboyz Tyson gets the vote.

Bet of the night at Shelbourne could be Mossie O'Connor's Deerfield Music in the A1 final. Others worth noting at HQ include Tyrur Lucky and Da Hatter.

There are two superb cards to choose from tomorrow with the final of the Moran & O'Donnell Oaks the feature at Newbridge, while in Clonmel the final of the Munster Puppy Cup is the big one.

Paul Hennessy has fancied runners in both finals and his Air Force Ellie looks a tasty dish in the Newbridge event, where her whirlwind finish can carry her to victory from Shelbourne Dawn.

Cool Dude has withdrawn from the Clonmel final due to injury and is replaced by Rockchase Zico. The Hennessy representative is Colourful Fox and if he can negotiate a safe passage around the first bend, he may be too strong for Archaton Linda and Little Bargain.
