Greyhounds: Final of the Red Mills Waterford Masters
The question facing punters at Kilcohan Park this evening is whether Tyrur Enda can continue the Team Tyrur domination of the major prizes in the final of the Red Mills Waterford Masters.
Winner of the Hennerty Laurels at Curraheen Park a month ago, Tyrur Enda failed to land the odds in the semi-final last week when, for once, he missed the start. Yet he ran a tremendous race in defeat when beaten a length by Jonny Whitesox.
He has the same dog in opposition tonight and he simply must come away running from trap two as he is also surrounded by fast starters Beaming Dilemma and Leeview Jet.
Thurlesbeg Joker and Krug Ninety Five will be absolutely motoring from half-way and they'll be closing rapidly on the home run. It has all the makings of a great contest but Tyrur Enda's early pace can carve out another big pay day for the father-and-son team of PJ and Conor Fahy.
The final of the Oliver Hawkes Memorial 575 will be run at Curraheen Park and here the favourite will be Definate Opinion. A trap-four draw is far from ideal but his all-round pace should carry him to victory over St Louis Spirit and Hare Mack.
The card at Shelbourne is headed by the Open 575 final, where likely favourite Tyrur Lucky will be an absentee due to injury. There will be no reserve but a tight race is in prospect with the vote going to Monlesa Alsation.
There is an interesting supporting card, with Tyrur Henry looking banker material in a heat of the Dobbins@The Park Open 525. In the other semi, the best advice could be to side with A Decent Lad.
One of the bets of the night could be the Michael Mulleady-trained Rince Rocket, which was an unlucky loser of his semi and should get away much better from the three box in the 10th race. The night's finale is a 600-yard contest and the Paul Hennessy-trained Master Blaster will appreciate the extra distance.
5pts Tyrur Enda 9.52 Waterford
