Paving the way for a carry-over on Saturday night at headquarters were a few surprise results, particularly the 7/1 victory of Tyrur Dylan in a heat of the College Causeway/ Killahan Phanter Easter Cup as he got up to beat Mustang Mission by less than a length in 29.79 seconds.

It was the first leg of a heat double for PJ Fahy, who later saw Tyrur Brennan make a winning seasonal debut as he won Heat Five in 30.10 from Forest Rover and the fancied Tyrur Quinn.

Star of the night was Owen McKenna's Thurlesbeg Joker, which easily landed odds of 4/6 in Heat Four, leading all the way to beat Olympic Double in 29.59.

The other heat winners were Droopys Noel in 30.19, Oran Legend in 29.96 and Toomaline Jack in 28.85.

There was no surprise in the final of the Kudos Supersprint at Curraheen Park when the Eoin O'Neill-trained Yes Boss hit the front on the opening bend and won by three and a half lengths from Cool Scorpion in 17.77.

Definite Opinion, trained by Pat Guilfoyle, was the star of the Gain Feeds Cesarewitch semi-finals at Mullingar on Saturday when he posted a brilliant 33.06 in gaining an easy victory over Full Of Beans.

The other semis were won by Rough Robinho in 33.51 and Pachacuti in 33.42.

Entries for the Red Mills Irish Cesarewitch close at Clonmel at 11.0 this morning and the first round will be run on Thursday and Sunday.
