Greyhound racing: Jayfkay tops Derby betting
Ireland's challenge for the English Derby is very much alive and kicking following Saturday's third round of the Classic at Wimbledon.
There are eight Irish- trained dogs through to the last 24 tomorrow night, with Dolores Ruth's Razldazl Jayfkay firming as favourite following his record-equalling 28.22 romp on Saturday.
His litter brother, Razldazl George, overcame some difficulty in running to win comprehensively in 28.39, while another star Irish performer was Paul Hennessy's Barefoot Bullet as he clocked a brilliant 28.26 in beating Taylors Sky and Fraser Black's Krug Ninety Five.
The other Irish qualifiers were Modern Man, Melodys Royal and Rockview Head (all second) and third-placed finisher Ballymac Barrell.
Meanwhile, Tubbertelly Dubh sustained a likely career-ending injury when breaking a hock in a trial around Drumbo Park on Saturday in preparation for the Northern Ireland Derby.
Star of the Saturday night action at Shelbourne in the Irish Oaks was the Pat Buckley-trained Beaming Olive. She led all for a six-length victory in 28.63.
