One of the young rising stars of Irish athletics, O'Donoghue (right) completed an impressive double at 800m and 1,500m at the recent Aviva All-Ireland Schools Track & Field Championships in Tullamore -- competing in the senior girls category.

It was a 'double double' for O'Donoghue (Villiers School) as she also won the 800m and 1,500m intermediate titles last year.

She will now compete for Ireland in next month's European Youth Olympics Festival in Trabzon, Turkey.

Also included in this bumper 30th anniversary issue of 'Irish Runner' are 16-week training schedules by coach Brendan O'Shea for the National Lottery Dublin Marathon. The schedules start on July 4. For more information contact
