Equestrian: Ireland third in Nations

Ireland's show jumping team finished joint-third in the opening Nations Cup of the 2011 season at Wellington in Florida on Friday.

US-based Darragh Kenny (Gael Force), Jennifer Crooks (SF Uryadi), Paul O'Shea (Realman) and Shane Sweetnam (Rolette) finished on a total of 37 faults and level with the British and Australians. The US reigned supreme with eight faults.

Cian O'Connor enjoyed a good run with Larkhill Cruiser on the Spanish Sunshine Tour at Vejar de la Frontera, where he topped Friday's 1.45m Two-Phase. Capt David O'Brien finished third in yesterday's 1.55m Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, at Comporta in Portugal, Shane Breen scored a double with Camblin and Cos I Can.
