Ebdon eyes up record
Peter Ebdon heads into his 20th Crucible campaign with one eye on an "amazing" record held by Stephen Hendry.
Ebdon, with one world title from 2002, will never match Hendry's haul of seven, but if he continues to play on at the highest level for several years to come, he might threaten Hendry's record of consecutive Crucible appearances.
Among the players in this year's draw, Ebdon is second only to Hendry, who made his bow at the World Championship as a 17-year-old in 1986. Ebdon came on the scene in 1992.
"It's something that I'm very proud of," said Ebdon.
"The daddy of us all is Stephen Hendry. This, ridiculously, is his 26th consecutive appearance at the Crucible, which is just an amazing record."
