Danish sprinter Nicolai Brochner brought home the bacon for his Riwal Platform team when he led home a heaving peloton to win stage four of the An Post Rás in Sneem.

"I fought really hard and towards the end I gave it everything I had," he said. Another aggressive day's racing from Louth Asea Wheelworx rider Bryan McCrystal saw him get a reward for his efforts of the first four days when he picked up points on the ascents of Ballaghisheen and Coomakista to don the King of the Mountains jersey.

There was no change in the overall standings, with 2014 winner Clemens Fankhauser of Austria Tirol holding onto this three-second advantage over Jai Hindley of Australia.
