Frenchman Warren Barguil delivered a Bastille Day victory on stage 13 of the Tour de France as Team Sky piled pressure on Fabio Aru in the yellow jersey.

Team Sunweb's Barguil won the short, sharp 101km stage from Saint-Girons to Foix out of a breakaway which had been driven by Sky's Mikel Landa and fellow Spaniard Alberto Contador.

Landa finished fourth to claw back 1min and 48 seconds in the general classification, putting him within 69 seconds of Aru in yellow as Sky plot to reclaim the yellow jersey Chris Froome lost on Thursday.

Daniel Martin was to the fore of the yellow jersey group, doing much of the work pacing them up the final climb of Mur de Peguere.

The Irishman eventually pulled away from that elite group, along with Simon Yates, on the descent to finish sixth and gain nine seconds on Aru and Froome. Landa's strong day in the hills, however, sees Martin slip to sixth in the GC.
