Cricket: O'Brien in title form
KEVIN O'BRIEN smashed four sixes as Leinster Lightning crushed the North-West Warriors by 106 runs at Bready to win the inaugural RSA InterPro T20 competition.
Reinhart Strydom got Leinster off to a flying start, lifting two sixes in a whirlwind 35 from 14 balls, but captain O'Brien went one better with 36 not out from 14 as the visitors posted 192-5.
Max Sorensen, who top-scored for Leinster with 38, then removed the dangerous David Rankin and the woeful Warriors never looked like mounting a challenge before being bowled out for 86.
Earlier, the home side had lost to the Northern Knights by five wickets and finished with four defeats in four games, while Leinster took the title on run-rate having matched the Knights' three wins.
