Boxer Michael Conlon will now fight for a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games

Michael Conlon will fight for silver later in the week after a successful day for Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

Their current tally stands at six, with Conlon a unanimous points winner over Bashir Nasir of Uganda and will now box Wales' Sean Mc Goldrick.

Michaela Walsh beat Jamaica's Sarah Joy Rae in the women's flyweight quarter-final to also secure a bronze medal, while lightweight Alanah Murphy was also victorious while Paddy Barnes is amongst those in action later this evening.
