Tyson Fury, the current WBA and WBO heavyweight champion, hit back at Anthony Joshua after the British heavyweight contender claimed Fury was "jealous of his beach body".

Joshua, 26, is preparing for his first title bout against IBF heavyweight champion Charles Martin on Saturday night, but has found himself embroiled in a war of words with Fury, 27.

The Olympic champion will fight Martin at the O2 Arena this weekend where the belt Fury vacated when he refused to fight the mandatory challenger.

Fury dismissed Joshua's boxing credentials last week, insisting the Olympian was more obsessed with "body building" rather than honing his boxing ability.

“All he’s got is a big punch, which everyone who pumps iron for five years and is six foot, six inches can punch like.

This game is not all about body-building. It’s about knowing how to box. He’s getting knocked out.”

Joshua responded to Fury's comments by suggesting the world heavyweight champion was "jealous of his beach body."

“They’re hating on my beach body, they’re just hating, that’s what it is. If they want, I’ll give them some sessions, they can come train with me if they want.

Joshua responded to the Manchester-born boxer's taunts by calling Fury "fat-boy".

Fury, who is set to be ringside to watch Joshua's title fight against Charles Martin, said he was anticipating a humbling defeat for the much-lauded British talent.

Anthony Joshua is so far undefeated in his 15 previous professional fights, but his opponent on Saturday is also predicting a first defeat for the the muscular heavyweight.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Joshua's Olympic gold triumph, Martin dismissed his opponent's achievement out of hand

"He was gifted it. Go watch it. If he came up against a southpaw they'd spark him out. I'm going to love that [destroying the hype]. I'm sorry y'all."
