Steve Collins has reportedly agreed to a third fight with Nigel Benn, who the Dubliner bested in two exciting bouts over 20 years ago.

According to the BBC, the boxers, who are now in their fifties, will lace up their gloves once again - if the fight is sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control.

If the BBBC refuse to green-light the fight then it could take place abroad.

"It's about the final chapter," Benn told the BBC.

"It's about closure.

"I was going backwards and forwards with Chris [Eubank] and I thought: 'I wouldn't have a problem with Steve.' So I asked him if he wants to fight. He said yes. No mucking about."

Dubliner Collins hasn't fought since beating Craig Cummings in July 1997, retiring as the WBO Super Middleweight champion while Benn hasn't been in the ring since losing twice to Collins in 1996.
