Katie Taylor kicks off professional career with dominant TKO win in London

Katie Taylor began life as a professional boxer in style, claiming a dominant TKO win against Karina Kopinska at the SSE Arena in London.

Dressed in black and gold fight gear, Taylor looked completely different from her amateur boxing days but her impressive performance would have been instantly recognisable to her legion of followers.

After a cagey opening round, Taylor exploded into life in the second, consistently landing powerful flurries that troubled Kopinska. Taylor and her promoter, Eddie Hearn, would have been delighted at the cheers that greeted her big shots, as they try to build a following in the UK, and the manner of her victory was certainly eye-catching.

Taylor carried that aggression into round three, with the referee stepping in midway through the two minutes to stop the fight after another controlled batch of power punches.
