Boxing: Burnett set to make pro bow

BELFAST bantamweight Ryan Burnett looks set to finally make his professional debut against an opponent, who has yet to be named, on the Ricky Hatton undercard at the Manchester Arena on November 24.

Manchester-based Burnett won gold and silver for Ireland at the Youth Olympics and World Youth Championships in 2010. He turned professional with Hatton Promotions over eight months ago, but his debut has been delayed because of medical issues.

Hatton will make his comeback against former two-weight world champion Vyacheslav Senchenko.
