The online entry service is now closed for this popular event, but late entries will be accepted on Saturday morning from 7.30 to 9.15 near the start on Acres Road, close to St Mary's Hospital.

This is always a well supported event where the proceeds go directly to Aware -- the charity that offers assistance to people suffering from depression. See www.aware.ie

A big entry is also expected in Waterford for the half-marathon organised by Waterford AC which takes place at noon. Details are on www.waterfordac.com

There are three events on the programme in Clonakilty -- a marathon, half-marathon and mini-marathon with details on www.runclon.ie.

Entries are now open for the annual AXA Raheny 5 on Sunday, January 29. Details on www.rahenyshamrock.com
