Athletics: Coghlan and Olympic tickets to draw a crowd for Tom Byrne 5k

Senator Eamonn Coghlan will be the official starter for the Tom Byrne Memorial 5k Road Race, which takes place in Lucan (Newcastle Road) on Sunday, May 20 at 11.0. There will be an added bonus for one lucky entrant in this event -- a pair of Olympic Track & Field tickets for London 2012, which will be included in one of the goody bags for each entrant.

This special prize comes courtesy of Cadbury, an Olympic Games sponsor.

The race entry is limited to just 400, so early entry is strongly advised -- especially with the Olympic tickets up for grabs.

The race route takes in 3km of the nearby Griffeen Park in Lucan and it finishes on the Lucan Harriers track on Newcastle Road.

The online entry at www.runireland.ie is only €12 or €15 on race day. Visit www.tombyrne memorialrace.com or call Derry McVeigh at 086 8322214 for more information.
