American Football: Patriots make play-offs
New England Patriots are in the Super Bowl play-offs for the eighth time in 10 years after a 36-7 rout of the Chicago Bears on Sunday in which Tom Brady threw for 369 yards and two touchdowns.
They grabbed a 33-0 half-time lead as Brady picked apart the Chicago Bears' defence.
The Patriots increased their lead in the AFC East to two over the Jets, who were beaten by the Miami Dolphins 10-6.
Despite their loss, the Bears (9-4) maintained a one-game lead in the NFC North over the Green Bay Packers, who were shocked 7-3 by the Detroit Lions.
The New Orleans Saints (10-3) showed they won't relinquish their Super Bowl crown without a fight as they beat St Louis Rams 31-13.
Philadelphia Eagles top the NFC East after a 30-27 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
