Conor McGregor was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and, as always, he did not disappoint with his wit and no-nonsense talk.

The Dubliner - who will fight Jose Aldo for the featherweight world title unification belt in Las Vegas on Saturday, December 12 - spoke of how he always knew the fight game was for him and his ambition to one day own a tiger or a chimpanzee!

“I am Irish, we are all good at fighting. We are all good. Society tells you, growing up you should fantasise about kicking a ball but it didn’t really interest me," said McGregor.

"Kicking a ball straight into a net is pretty cool but what if someone runs up behind me and hits me two shots into the mouth, then it ain’t so cool. That was in my head as a kid.

“I am aware. I have a self defence mind and where I grew up you had to be able to defend yourself so that’s how I got into it."

McGregor added that Mike Tyson is one of his all-time heroes and the Notorious is hoping to follow in his footsteps when it comes to owning a pet!

"Mike Tyson is the man, Heavyweight champ, had a damn tiger in his home. He was actually at my last fight at UFC 189 so I am hoping he is going to be there (against Aldo). Because I have honestly, really truly, given thought to getting an exotic animal. I need to sit down and speak to Tyson and weigh up the pros and cons. I would love a monkey or a chimpanzee."
