Featherweight champion Conor McGregor and lightweight ruler Eddie Alvarez will lock horns in Madison Square Garden on Saturday night at UFC 205 and both men have been given insights into their final preparations.

In the first episode of UFC 205 Embedded: Vlog Series, Alvarez responded to the Dubliner's claim that his wife and kids won't recognise him after this weekend's bout.

"This guy is so offensive minded and never on the defence that  whenever you put him on the defence he gets so flustered and so upset," Alvarez said.

"At a certain point in our press conference, he got desperate and started talking about my wife and kids and things like that and for me it's a sign of desperation.

"You don't talk about another man's family unless you're like through-the-roof pissed off."

Alvarez concluded his final sparring session ahead of the fight in New Jersey and seemed pleased by it, saying: "We ain't riding bicycles here, we ain't riding bicycles."

The Notorious is already in New York and was being put through his paces by coach John Kavanagh with Dillon Danis acting as his sparring partner.

We also heard from George Lockhart, McGregor's nutritionist, as he prepares the Irishman for his weight cut later this week.
