Holm rocked the world of mixed martial arts when she dismantled Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 but became the victim of a huge shock herself when Miesha Tate made her submit in the final two minutes of the fifth and final round.

Holm was probably shading the contest on points in the final round but with two minutes to go, Miesha Tate got her locked in a rear naked choke and Holm went to sleep.

The opening round was shaded by Holm who landed some nice jabs with both fighters a little cagey in the opening exchanges.

The second was full of fireworks with Tate putting Holm on her back for the first time in her 11-fight UFC career with a terrific takedown.

Tate was dominant from on top and came tantalisingly close to a ending it with a rear naked choke but Holm manahed to survive until the bell.

The absorbing encounter entered a third round but Tate was unable to exert the same pressure allowing Holm to regather herself.

Holm's superior boxing skills began to tell in the fourth with the champ managing to stay on her feet and pick her opponent off from distance.

Holm was on top until two minutes to go until Tate forced her opponent onto the canvas and her perfectly executed rear naked choke hold was enough to seal a famous victory.
