'They asked me if I'd train him': Top boxing coach adds more fuel to McGregor v Mayweather rumour

The longer Conor McGregor's 'sabbatical' from the UFC continues the longer the rumours of him fighting Floyd Mayweather will persist.
Realistically, there is almost no chance of the superfight going ahead - but given that the fight would bank both men an absolute fortune, a potential bout can never be entirely ruled out.
There have been lots of 'sources' speculating on McGregor v Mayweather but the most interesting person to weigh in on it so far is Freddie Roach.
Roach is one of boxing's most highly regarded trainers and has been in Manny Pacquiao's corner for years. The American told Fight Hub TV that he was approached by... someone, who asked him to help prepare Conor McGregor to fight Mayweather.
While Roach didn't elaborate on who reached out to him, he did say that if McGregor shows up to his gym, he would be open to working with the Dubliner.
However, he also joked - although he was probably serious as well - that he would need three years to get the MMA fighter ready to face Mayweather.
