The Secret Service are trying to talk President-elect Donald Trump out of attending the landmark UFC 205 event in New York City tonight.
Madison Square Garden is set to host Conor McGregor's lightweight title fight in what is the first ever UFC event in the state of New York and Trump, fresh off his win in the US Presidential Election, had previously agreed to attend.
However, according to the New York Post, the Secret Service don't want Trump to attend the bout due to security concerns.
UFC president Dana White invited Trump to the event, which is being headlined by McGregor's fight with Eddie Alvarez.
“Donald originally told me that he would come to the fight if he won,” White TMZ Sports on Thursday.
“I don’t think Donald really realized what his duties were going to be had he won. No pressure to come, but it wouldn’t suck that he came.”
