Conor McGregor's cryptic retirement isn't being taken completely seriously by those in the know in the world of MMA but his camp continue to fuel speculation that it may be true.

The 27-year-old from Crumlin is currently in Iceland on a training camp with a number of team mates but has been pulled from UFC 200 after refusing to do media obligations for the Nate Diaz rematch, according to the UFC.

Cryptic tweets from McGregor and his coach John Kavanagh sparked a Twitter storm after they suggested that he was calling time on his MMA career.

His SBG team-mate Peter Queally is in Iceland with the Notorious and he posted a photo Instagram alongside McGregor with the message: "If you're gonna go... go with a smile."
